Lab technician certification awarded to female candidate

A Sydney woman has won a lab technician job with a top Australian nutrition and food company.

A postdoctoral role at the Australian company will open for the position.

The position is being created to help fill a gap in the food service industry, said Victoria University PhD candidate Jessica Hurd.

“The lab technician is the equivalent of a lab assistant or lab technician, they are responsible for providing services to food service customers, making food safe and nutritious, and working with microbiologists to produce new foods,” she said.

“Lab technicians have traditionally been viewed as low-paid, but it seems to be a new era of female career choices.”

Dr Hurd is studying for her PhD at the University of Queensland.

“It is great to see a female candidate being given the opportunity to pursue a career in food science,” she told News.

“We are very excited about the opportunity for female food service workers to be given a new career, and that’s a great thing.”

Ms Hurd said the job was exciting.

“I think it’s a wonderful opportunity to see some of the women and girls who are doing science in the kitchen becoming successful,” she added.

“There are so many women in the lab who are in the industry, but they are often under-represented.”

Ms Hobbs is one of several female applicants in the first of a two-year program.

She has applied for two jobs and was selected as the third.

“They are exciting, exciting opportunities that are opening up,” she explained.

“One is a full-time job at a company that has just recently opened, and there’s also a new position where you can work from home.”‘

They are fantastic candidates’The other is an entry-level position where they can work in the same way as a lab operator but they can also be a full time part-time worker.””

I am so excited to be working with these young women and their skills,” she continued.”

Because there are a lot of young women coming into the food services industry, there is a lot that needs to be done in terms of training and mentoring.

“This is something that I think will really open up the field for us as well.”
